Connect@Changi is the world’s first Business Travel Exchange

Connect@Changi is a national resilience project to make sure that Singapore continues to keep business going and to rise again.

As we move to Phase 3, steps will also be taken, to allow limited, safe, face-to-face international business meetings, Transport Minister Ong Ye Kung said.

Zoom cannot replace some face-to-face business meetings such as signing agreements, or discussing with key teams, getting to know key partners in person.

Connect@Changi will provide the first of its kind facility to enable such meetings to be carried out safely.

The project is developed by a Singapore consortium. Temasek is leading the project. The consortium includes The Ascott Limited, Changi Airport Group, Sheares Healthcare Group, SingEx and Surbana Jurong. Its initial phase involves building over 670 premium guest rooms and close to 170 meeting rooms that can accommodate a range of meeting sizes, from four to 22 attendees. It is located at Singapore EXPO Halls 7 and 8. When fully constructed in mid-2021, the facility will include more than 1,300 guest rooms and about 340 meeting rooms.

“It is a national resilience project so that even when we are down, even when COVID-19 disrupted travel, we can continue to keep business going. We will make sure that Singapore continues to hum along even with COVID-19 and we are all ready to rise again,” Transport Minister Ong Ye Kung said.
